Donating Means Making a Difference
The Empowering Center for Employment and Career Development (ECECD) relies on the generosity of many individuals, organizations, community leaders and companies to support our mission. Corporations have the capacity to partner by providing financial, networking, consumer and other sponsorship support, directly benefitting our student body.

ECECD is a non-profit organization committed to developing education and empowerment strategies focused on alleviating the factors that contribute to the difficulties at-risk young adults face in securing employment. By partnering with ECECD, your organization is affording DC youth the opportunity to grow in education, achieve their dreams, and succeed in life.

ECECD incorporates incentives such as transportation, lunch and a monetary stipend to help students understand and appreciate the value of working hard and earning a living. Through initiatives like our flagship program, the Building for the Future Academy (BFTFA), Fast Track Vocational and other forthcoming initiatives, ECECD affords potential partners many opportunities to make a difference while fulfilling corporate community outreach goals.

ECECD will work with your organization to identify the perfect partnership opportunity, or customize a package specific to your company’s goals and objectives. Some

WAYS TO PARTNER

Donations and Sponsorships
Direct Donations: Individuals can make contributions for any amount to support our mission, a specific program or campaign. Companies may also donate funds or services through their foundation. Simply visit our website in the Partners area to make your tax-deductible donation or contact us at partners@empoweringcenter.org.

Sponsorship: Sponsorship opportunities vary from events to specific student programs. Companies demonstrate their commitment to DC Metropolitan area youth while receiving recognition, community exposure and multiple impressions. Sponsoring our events and/or programs at any level is also an effective way to involve employees in your corporate goals for community outreach as a great morale booster in the workplace.

In-Kind Gifts: Companies donate products or services to support the work of ECECD. Examples of generous contributions include books, school supplies, software, professional services and program specific needs. Volunteering: Form a group of employees, friends, coworkers or fellow entrepreneurs to volunteer your time for mentorship, program activities, or support for ECECD’s special events. Allowing a student to shadow you at work is another way to give back. Contact us at partners@empoweringcenter.org to discuss details!

Transportation Program: Students’ poor attendance is often directly related to their inability to secure funds for public transportation. Your donation will be used to purchase Metro fare cards and/or tokens to assist students.

Internship Program – Our students are matched up with internships in their chosen career fields. This integral part of our program is extremely important so that students are able to gain valuable hands-on experience.

Companies provide opportunities for training in designated fields but do not compensate students with a salary. Instead, students are provided with transportation, lunch and monetary incentives in order to understand and appreciate the value of working hard and earning a living. Often times internships also require students to wear a uniform or be dressed professionally.
